Fred Thomas Jr. the seven time N.A.A.C.P award nominee and winner of Best Director, Best Playwright, and Best Producer for his play 12’ x 9’ is an alumnus of Lincoln University, PA (HBCU), and Temple University receiving his Masters in Film and Media Arts. His credits and achievements include being the founder of Temple University’s Black Media Collective, a Film Independent Screenwriting Fellowship Recipient, a Writers Guild of America Veterans Writing program alumnus, and one of the original friends who starred in the iconic Budweiser Whassup Guys! commercial campaign. He produced several stage plays with Don B. Welch Productions such as, The Divorce and the tremendously successful The Bachelorette Party, also co-produced by actor Will Smith.

Thomas starred with friend and director Charles Stone III in Stone's short film TRUE. Stone, Thomas, and friends Scott Brooks, and Paul Williams together became the Whassup Guys!  The most successful and memorable ad campaign for Budweiser, generated a total of 17 commercials. That campaign helped the group garner appearances world wide including the The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and winning the 2000 Cannes Film Festival Golden Lion Award for the Best Commercial in the World.

To date, Thomas has worked with Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment production team on Men In Black 3. He’s the director-producer-actor on the film 24 Hour Love, writer-director for the TV movie Ladies Book, director-co-writer for What Would Divas Do? Divalogues, a musical stage play for the series R&B Divas L.A., directed the stage plays, When A Man Stands Alone, and How To Raise A Freeman. He is a performer in the sketch comedy group Now What?, and stars as Detective Grover Caine in the new WEtv network drama series KOLDxWINDY.
